Google Translate

Google Translate (Google translation) is a service provided by Google Inc.. to translate the text or web pages in one language to another. For some languages, users are asked to provide an alternative translation, such as for technical terms, which will be included to update the translation process.



Unlike other translation services such as Babel Fish and SYSTRAN using AOL, Google uses its own translation software.

Google Translate, like other automatic translation tool, has several limitations. While it can help the reader to understand the general content of foreign language text, but does not provide an accurate translation.

Availability of Arabic and Chinese as official language of the United Nations may be one reason why Google Translate initially focused on making the translation between English to those languages, and not, for example with Japanese or German, which is not an official language at the United Nations. Google representatives are very active in the local conference in Japan asked the researchers to give them a collection of parallel texts. [2]
